Aqua Mansa the Name is Spanish for Peaceful Waters.

Founded around 1830.
After about 50 years The town virtually disappeared.
Today all that is left is the cemetery.
Also the cemetery is a historic site open the 1st Sunday of every month. The hours
are 12:00 to 3:00 PM
The Aqua Mansa Community, Which spanned both sides of the Santa Ana river.
was the 1st settlement in the San Bernardino valley.
After the close of the mission period in the 1830's. It had the first church, the first
school, and was the first to develop a lumbering industry.
It was the largest settlement between Santa Fe, New Mexico and Los Angeles
until the growth of the Mormon settlement in San Bernardino in the 1850's.
Aqua Mansa flourished until January 1862 when a great flood filled the Santa Ana
river from bluff to bluff and destroyed the west bank community, leaving only the
cemetery, the chapel, and Cornelius Jensen's adjoining store.
