Garlock at one time was named Cow Wells. Founded around 1895. By 1899 the town had grown to several Hundred people. The town had
to hotels Doty and the Lilard. The town also had 6 mills, including the Garlock Pioneer mill built by Eugene Garlock. For which the town got
it's name. Garlock became a ghost town in 1926.
